Membership of the club is open to adults over the age of 18 who are already experienced runners.

The club runs on a variety of surfaces including forest trails, fire roads, unmade tracks and rough ground so the terrain is rugged, hilly, wet and often muddy. The aim of the club is to provide enjoyable yet challenging runs at a good steady pace without too many stops. As such, potential members should be capable of running at a steady pace for an hour on trails.

UKA affiliation

Haldon Trail Runners is registered with England Athletics and all members will be registered on the EA database.  First claim members will be affiliated with British Athletics and will receive a competitor's license as part of your membership.

Membership fees

Our membership year runs from 1st April and the annual subscription is currently set at £30.

This includes the cost of a BA competitor's license.

Two people sharing the same address are eligible for Family Membership at a reduced rate of £58.

We are open to a limited number of second claim members who pay £17.

Competing in races

As part of your (first claim) membership you will be affiliated with EA and receive a competitor's license.  If you compete in races you must enter as a Haldon Trail Runner and wear club colours.  A selection of club kit is available for purchase from the online shop.

What will I need to be a member?

We are a friendly and supportive club and welcome like minded individuals who can fit in with our relaxed and friendly style. You are welcome to join in with as much or as little as you wish and we do not place any burden upon you other than to pay your subs, comply with our constitution and respect your fellow runners.  You may also find a decent pair of trail shoes and a head torch come in handy :)

How do I join?

We encourage all prospective members to come along on a Wednesday night for a taster session before committing to join.
